Reminder: City’s Urban Mobility team heading to the Northern suburbs to talk all things transport

The City’s Urban Mobility Directorate teams will be kick starting its series of community roadshow events in the Northern Suburbs on Thursday, 10 October at the Parow Civic Centre between 15:00 – 19:00 . All residents are welcome to attend. 

'We are taking the City's Urban Mobility show on the road to Parow next week to hear from our residents in the north and get their feedback on how we can keep Cape Town moving. Urban Mobility plays a crucial role in keeping our roads safe and ensuring that traffic flows smoothly.

'So whether you want to ask the City about your street, a pothole, traffic calming, stormwater infrastructure, and local transport, or give input on transport matters in your area, now is your chance to meet your Urban Mobility area managers and officials, and get the answers you've been waiting for,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

Residents are encouraged to attend the community roadshows in their areas to learn more about current and upcoming projects. The Urban Mobility staff will also be available to speak to residents about exciting possibilities for those wanting to pursue a career in transport - this could be anything from building roads to planning for future transport demands and exciting innovative technologies to improve mobility.

'Some interactive games, giveaways and entertainment have also been arranged for these days. I encourage residents to come stop by after work, the information will be helpful and interesting, and also give you a better understanding of what exactly we do,' said Councillor Quintas.
